Education

PRE-PRIMARY SCHOOL
In rural and urban West Bengal it has been observed that a considerable number of children belonging to poor families have been deprived of the rights and opportunity of getting primary education. Sources reveal that on one hand government is trying to reduce illiteracy by making children literate, but on the other hand a great number of children are remaining illiterate for various reasons in spite of implementation of Right to Education Act 2009. As a result literacy rate could not be achieved as per our expectation. The children within this age group 6+ should be brought within the orbit of Primary Education otherwise this group will become part of the illiterate generation in future. Pre-primary education has become a popular strategy to prevent drop out from formal education and bring them to the mainstream of education system, thereby aiming to ensure that all poor children in a community receive free education. Under the program, schools are set up in villages with community participation. . For this we have made various efforts already and plan to continue our efforts in future as per the programme below for Pre-Primary schools.
